This is a binder that our preschoolers will be using this year.  It will include many things to involve families and children in our program as well as to help children become organized and especially proud of what they do, how they do it and to share some of those experiences with family.

Inside many different things will be happening. Labels on the pockets will let parent know about the weeks theme, activities and any upcoming special days for the children.

Then a wonderful poem about reading to your children.  We all know that parents are busy and have little time, but here are some quick and easy ways to make some time and make reading fun for your child.

Next we have a Sheet Protector that will have "Beginner Readers".  This will be short perhaps 8 page little readers with simple words and pictures to read with your child.  These little books can be kept in the protector to keep them together.  Your child will have read these books in the classroom and be familiar with the story. He/she will be very proud that he/she can read it to you.

Next there will be The J.U.M.P.S.T.A.R.T.E.R.S. rules for the children in how to take care of their binder and what we will be doing with it. Lot of this information will be practiced in class and your child will be extremely excited to share this information with you.

Then we will have a page entitled "Binder Parent Information"  which will give parents all the information about the binder itself and help your child become organized and responsible, but of course he/she will need your help.

Next there will be a pencil case that will have a pen and an envelope in for money that may be needed for special days and events.

Then we will have Monthly Calendars that will help parents know and children how there day was.  A star or a happy face for a good day and nothing for a difficult day.

Then "Skills We are Working On".  These will be full pages of alphabet letters both upper and lower case as well as picture association for sound recognition.  Colors, numbers and clocks with special times of the day on them. A page that will have a variety of shapes, ,money which we know all children love and Number order . There will be an alphabet Tracer Page or to be used as a helper to print on another paper. Finally pictures of hands, Right Hand and left hand.

Then there will be a Sheet Protector for "Special Learning Activity".  This may be a computer made game, like Tic,Tac,Toe or Dominos or even a matching game. Another sharing idea to share with your child.

Then a folder, Brightly colored for a "Communications Log".  Inside will have papers in the pocket to keep at home, and possibly some to sign and send back.  Then there will be log sheets, for you the parent to add notes, questions, concerns and for the teacher as well.  A great way to keep communication open between home and school.
